ELN has been organized with the mission of developing leaders for emerging urban church. Our goals for fulfilling this mission are to
> Establish ongoing leadership training
> Identify and mentor leaders
> Provide a resource network for leaders

Ultimately, our aim is to become a resource for identifying and developing a new generation of leaders.

This bulletin board is one effort towards that end. With the ELN Book Club we will agree upon a book to read together. A question or comment from the book will be posted and you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts or insights.

We reserve the right to remove any entries that we deem in appropriate or not in keeping with the spirit of the ELN.

The Darkside of Leadership, Chapter 1

The first book we have chosen for the ELN Book Club is Overcoming the Dark Side of Leadership, by Gary McIntosh and Sam Rima (Baker Books, ISBN - 0-8010-9047-4). According to the authors, “many traits that drive us to succeed have the potential of bringing out a dark side of leadership, In this book, the leader learns how this can happen and how to identify his or her dark side.”

After you have read chapter 1, respond to the following question:

Reflect on Sam’s story of how his dark side collided with his life work.
